St. Lucian Guilty of Rape in London gets 13 Years in the Slammer

Paul Francis found guilty of rape in Lewisham, UK

A part-time builder and DJ was yesterday, Friday 6 January, at Woolwich Crown Court, sentenced to 13 years in prison, for sexual offences.

Paul Francis, 46, born June 26, 1970, of Lewisham, had also pleaded guilty at the same court on 2 December 2016 to five counts of sexual assaults and four counts of rape.

The two victims, who were known to Francis, were raped over a period of years, with the attacks beginning at a very young age.

Reports were made to the police in September 2016 following disclosures from one of the girls to her school.

Officers also spoke with the younger girl who initially was uncooperative, but eventually wrote a short note and drawing explaining what Francis did to her.

Francis gave no comment when interviewed but was charged September 14, 2016.

Investigators established that Francis worked as a part-time builder and also as a DJ at parties and private functions, mainly in the Lewisham area.

Police Constable Bruce Upson of the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command urges any other victims who have been raped or sexually assaulted by Francis to contact police.

Paul Francis was immediately placed on an a publicly available online sex offenders registry.
