CCC Appoints First Ever CEO

Miss Anselma Calderon

Castries, March 3, 2017 – The Castries Constituency Council has appointed Miss Anselma Calderon as its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) following a rigorous recruitment process.

Miss Calderon has served as the Deputy Mayor from August 2, 2016. She joined the organization with a wealth of experience, coming from the public service where she last served as Director of Human Resource Development (HRD) within the Ministry of Education.

Prior, Miss Calderon held the positions of Training Officer and Deputy Director for Training at the Ministry of the Public Service. She was also a Youth and Sports Officer and Director for a Junior Achievement programme ran by the Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she taught for five and three years respectively at the St. Mary’s College and the SDA Academy.

The new CEO will assist with the general administration of the CCC under the direction of Mayor Peterson D. Francis. Among her tasks are developing and delivering strategic plans and building on the existing institutional framework.

Her top priorities will be the management of the organization, the creation of new commercial opportunities, helping to drive revenue, along with an amplified focus on improving the performance and efficiency of the Council.

Mayor of Castries, His Lordship Peterson D. Francis welcomes the new CEO remarking, “Miss Calderon has a proven track record of success and the relevant experience which will add exceptional value to the organization.  She clearly shares our vision for the future of the Castries Constituency Council.”

In response, Miss Calderon expressed her commitment and excitement. “I am delighted to have been given the honour of becoming the new CEO of the Council. I am grateful for the opportunity and eager to improve the institution at all levels. I am looking forward to working with the many stakeholders who are dedicated to the long-term development of the City of Castries.”

Miss Calderon recently completed training in Leadership and Governance from the Caribbean Governance Training Institute. She also holds a post graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Leicester and a BSC in Business Management from Andrews University.

She will be based at the Offices of the Mayor and Castries Constituency Council on Peynier Street in Castries.
