Prime Minister Honourable Allen Chastanet formally meets British High Commissioner Janet Elizabeth Douglas at the Office of the Prime Minister on Tuesday June 13th 2017. Ms. Douglas CMG was appointed British High Commissioner to Barbados, and non-resident High Commissioner to Dominica, Grenada, Antigua & Barbuda, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Saint Lucia and St Christopher & Nevis in April. The Prime Minister and Ms. Douglas spoke about developments in the UK and Saint Lucia and areas of mutual interest and cooperation.
Ms. Janet Elizabeth Douglas CMG began her diplomatic career at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London, England in 1985. Since then she has held a number of postings with her most recent being the Deputy Head of Mission in Ankara, Turkey (July 2011 – January 2017)..
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Archaeology and Anthropology from St. Catherine’s College, University of Cambridge. Languages spoken are English, French, Swedish and Turkish.
Her appointment to Barbados began in April, 2017.
