Preliminary discussions between the Management of the Bank of Nova Scotia and National Workers Union (NWU) progressed conclusively. The talks were aimed at resolving mundane domestic issues prior to the commencement of industrial negotiations between the financial institution and the National Workers Union.
- Workers will be paid their Merit Increases across the board from May 12, 2017. The retroactive component will also be paid.
- Tax on Meal Allowances will be discontinued.
- Whenever a vacancy arises, whether it be temporary, short termor long term, Saint Lucians will always be given the opportunity to be selected. Such a period could be used for training orupward mobility.
- During upcoming negotiations the union will positively consider the across the board Merit Increase paid to all the bank’s workers.
