UK Member of Parliament Dominic Raab has reported that the family of the late Oliver Gobat have received death threats as they continue to investigate his murder in St Lucia in April 2014.
MP Dominic Raab spoke about the family’s continued struggle for justice as he launched a plea for more home police assistance in cases where UK nationals are murdered abroad.
Oliver Gobat’s charred body was found in his burnt out Range Rover SUV in a secluded area at Cap Estate, on the night of April 25, 2014. Police were called to the scene when reports were received of a vehicle on fire in that area. It was later determined that Oliver Gobat had been shot twice in the head.
His parents, Theo and Helen, created the Cap Maison Resort and Spa in St Lucia with their three sons, Rufus, Adam and Oliver.
MP Raab said: “Regrettably there has been no progress in the case and no proactive engagement or assistance provided by Surrey Police .
“Worse still, the family is now also receiving death threats as a result of its private investigation.”
In December 2014 Mrs Gobat, husband Theo and their other sons Rufus and Adam issued a £120,000 reward for any information that would lead to the capture of the killers.
